Experience with a start-up

I read an ad sometime ago for software professionals. The ad was published by a very nascent company. The ad extolled on how the candidates should be committed to the goal and willing to commit 40+ hours every week. The point they harped on is, yes we know you might have another job, we know this is a big risk, but if we don’t work now, we are not going to be getting anywhere anytime soon.. In fact we might as well just drown.

I feel they are justified in asking for that commitment!
